Competitive mind

Having a competitive mind is having a specific place in your mind that separates logic and ego. You need to believe that your competitors make you better. If you go into a tournament thinking that you’re the best player in the world and you are not prepared for a challenge, you will be shocked and upset when someone close to your skill level comes along.

If you study strategies from better players, you can pick out their mistakes and learn what to do instead. Good teams and players will think your predictable and if you can understand that then you can do a lot to be unpredictable. One key skill to be a successful competitive player, is to be adjustable. For instance, if your team’s plan is to be aggressive but the other team has a solid setup and your strategy fails over and over, why would you stick to the same strategy? Being able to adapt is the greatest skill a team can have.
Every single match counts! If you think this way it will increase your skill and team work. I like to laugh at teams who say, “These guys are terrible, this will be so easy” and then get dominated because they already overlooked them. 75% of the time an upset occurs is because they simply overlooked a team. When you have a competitive mind you should play your best all of the time and don’t screw around. Now I’m not saying don’t have fun, but more or less just because you are better then someone doesn’t mean you should joke and not try just because you can get away with it. Play 100% to win, and not to make fools of the other team.
If you follow these rules then you will be on your way to becoming a well respected professional gamer.
