This weekend was full of exciting matches, clutch plays, and by far one of the most intense MLG events I have seen in a long time. One team stood out from the rest and that was Str8 Rippin!

Fatal1ty Interview CES 2009

This past weekend we spoke with Fatal1ty at CES 2009 and asked him a variety of questions.

Bonk: What do you think of CES this year?

Fatal1ty: It is a cool show this year. We are launching some of my new products with Creative / Sound Blaster and OCZ as well. We are still doing the shootout competition which was a lot of fun. At CES we get a chance to forecast what is happening for the rest of the year.

Bonk: With the sad end to the Championship Gaming Series, would you mind telling us what happened with the league?

Fatal1ty: It really is sad that the CGS ended but with how the economy went I think that investors were a little scared to keep putting money into it. I was really expecting to see it for another year or so because we were getting on path with it as far as the new pro-am divisions for the online leagues. A lot of the gamers and the scene are getting stronger in many ways because the CGS showed gaming as a sport to many people. Also with the online content sites like Pr0 Gaming and other gaming news sites will defiantly build up the exposure for the future.

Bonk: Do you have anything planned as far as other leagues in terms of a sponsorship? Or even a new league?

Fatal1ty: I want to sponsor the players, so this year I am really going to try focus on sponsoring the big players. I may sponsor a team here and there but I also may get more involved with WOW as well.

Bonk: Are there any games that you are anticipating for this year, as far as your tournament career goes?

Fatal1ty: Rage from id software is supposed to come out soon and I really want to play that game. What I am really excited for right now though is the new 3D technology from NVIDIA. I really am just waiting for a good game to play right now, there have been a lot of team games coming out and I love team play but 1v1 is where the money is at.

Bonk: I am going to ask you a bunch of quick questions so just say the first thing that comes to mind.

Bonk: PS3 or Xbox 360?

Fatal1ty: Xbox 360.

Bonk: Best headset besides your own?

Fatal1ty: Uh…..Probably Sony headphones are pretty good, but my new champion series headset is going to be sick.

Bonk: Favorite MMO

Fatal1ty: I’m not a big MMO guy but I have say WOW. My brother plays it a lot and I got 3 level 60 in weeks now so I didn’t have to go through all the torture  like everyone else….Thank God….

Bonk: Last one, Halo 3 or Killzone 2?

Fatal1ty: I like Halo 3 and I also like the community behind it because it defiantly showed people how to play a FPS game. I still like PC games better but I have a lot of respect for those who play it at the highest level.
