Team Success Tips | The Coach

Don’t have a coach? Well you should look into getting one! Having a coach on your team will help tremendously. A coach provides an extra pair of eyes that can call out stuff loud and clear to other teammates. For example if one of the players calls something out and the player on the other end is not able to hear that player, that is where the coach comes in and calls it out for him.

Communicating amongst the team is very important for success. A coach can also watch all the screens of the players so he can help out by calling something out or even giving advice such as telling a player to wait or push. A coach’s main objective though is to keep weapons and power-ups on spawn. Usually a coach will bring a clip board and have all the times logged down on a paper so he can let the players know when certain things are about to spawn. This allows your team to set up for the weapons or power-ups precisely. With a coach there to focus on the times of weapon and power-up spawns this allows the players to focus on just playing. While trying to play and keep track of times it can get a overwhelming so having someone there keeping track of the respawn times is a huge help.

Also having a coach that is actually good at the game will give that edge over other coaches. Having a coach that knows little about the game can still work as long as he/she keeps track of the respawn times and knows the call outs on the maps, but a coach that plays the game and knows how to play it in certain situations can help players even more by giving advice such as to sit back or push forward. Coachs’ such as xXx from Instinct and CallMeManTrain former coach of Final Boss are good at halo and know a lot about the game so they bring that edge of coaching that other coachs might not. Another great coach is Lammie from Str8 Rippin. Lammie brings a lot of energy when he coaches. He gets everyone on Str8 Rippin pumped and keeps their confidence up. When players are down or they did something wrong a coach should be there to provide that ‘pick me up’ kind of attitude. Saying things like “It’s ok, let that play go”, or “Calm down guys, focus on the next game”, will help players forget about that bad play or game and move on to the next one.

Another great coach is JT Bravo. He also brings that energy to the team but he can get a little carried away with his energy. He can get over excited about things or call things out too loud which can cause stress and make players uncomfortable. Basically you want to make sure that your coach knows the call outs on every map, weapon and power-up respawns, and to be calm and give that mental support players need at certain times. You can’t go wrong with getting a coach for your team so start asking around!

iGotUrPistola - Triggers Down

Pistola is one of the youngest players on the circuit but don’t let his age fool you, because he will own you! He is one of the most unpredictable players and that is why he comes in at number four. Here is a great example of his amazing talent.

Legit - Str8 Rippin

My favorite player to watch is Legit. He has always been my favorite player to watch because not only is he a smart player but he makes some clutch plays to help his team win. He might not be as flashy as other players with their sick snipes but he always puts himself in the right place at the right time to help lead his team to victory. Check out this game play of Legit facing Final Boss in an unforgettable series come back!
